Touch of Essence is a small home business based in the Redlands (Queensland) that is focused on the belief that our customers' needs are of the utmost importance. We are committed to meeting those needs strictly in a Remedial sense. Out therpaist is fully qualified and has been working in the industry for several years. As a result, a high percentage of the business is from repeat customers and referrals. We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in the industry. From our therapist, Amanda: I have been working as a remedial massage therapist for 8 years now and enjoy every minute of it, just as I did when I first started. I love that I meet different people daily and I make a difference in their day; the satisfaction is fantastic. I have worked with all different clients from the every day office workers to athletes and even my family members. The question I get asked the most is "Do I ever get sick of it?" and funnily enough I don't. Every person I see has different issues to work through and sometimes I hear all of their stories. I have some regular clients that I have seen now for over 7 years and I have watched them live their life as they have mine.
Please note that Amanda massages around other commitments and availability will be discussed when booking.
Massage is one of the oldest healing arts and as many millions will attest, massage also helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday living. Massage is the application of soft-tissue manipulation techniques to the body, generally intended to reduce stress and fatigue while improving circulation. Massage has been found to improve circulation, joint range-of-motion, and flexibility as well as reduce common ailments such as stress, heacahes, and muscular tightness, aches and pains. Massage has even been shown to help treat anxiety and depression. There are many variations of massage, those of which we offer are listed below.
A massage that seeks to relax our clients as well as improve general wellbeing, increase circulation, reduce mental stress and general body tension.
This is another form of relaxation that helps in the reduction of muscular tension, improvement of vascular and lymphatic circulation, regulation of the nervous system and normalisation of pulmonary function.
This massage is a heavier massage which primarily aims to restore or promote motion and to reduce or prevent pain, by using the application of advanced techniques and assessment for neuro-musculoskeletal dysfunctions.
Deep Tissue Massage:
Deep tissue massage is designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury. It is not uncommon for receivers of deep tissue massage to have their pain replaced with a new muscle ache for a day or two. Deep tissue work varies greatly.
Sports massage focuses on muscles relevant to the event. For athletes who train continuously, the goal is to enhance endurance, lessen the chance of injury and shorten the time needed to recover from an event.
Prenatal massage helps pregnant women to relax tense muscles and reduce stress and anxiety associated with labor. It also works to relieve pain. The expanding womb puts a lot stress on the shoulders, abdominal area and back muscles of the mother, and lower back pain is very common during pregnancy. A prenatal massage therapist can apply pressure to specific sore spots to relieve tension and pain.
